CHARITABLE AID
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. I The monthly meeting of the North I Wairarapa Benevolent Committee was I held on Tuesday morning, there being I present—Messrs J. B. Keith (chairman), W. Fisher, Miller, Morris, J. I C. Ewington and .Mrs Cairns. 'The pay-sheet, amounting to £24 5s fid for charitable aid and £2O Is 3d I for the Solway Home, was passed for pavmerit. I In connection with an application | for charitable relief, it was decided to i grant temporary assistance. I " The matter of arranging accommoidation for certain individual cases was left in the hands of the chairman and Mrs Cairns, with power to act. The usual grants for relief were re- , liicwcd for the ensuing month. It was reported that there were seven inmates in the Solway Home. The treasurer reported as follows: Receipts—Balance from last meeting £l4l 14s 4d, refunded relief £ls 3s id; total, £156 17s Bd. Expenditure —Fowl and clothing £46 4s. rents £8 • 16s, medical attendance £1 8s ?d, ( grounds £1 14s, incidental £1 8s 7d, \ waires £6 10s; balance at date, £B7 18s KM.
