JUNIOR CADETS.
The Junior Cadets and Educational Institutes in various parts of the Dominion are taking exception to tlte proposal of tne the Forces.that they should be demilitarised. On what grounds the exception ip taken wo aire at a bi-is to know. The edueutiouiiaO' syllabus is already over-orowded, and the time occupied in useless caremonial and other parades hafi ibeem regarded for some time as a serious encroachment upon the work of the primary schools. Physical drill '"'3 right and proper, for this s>?rves to develop the* brain and tissuo of the youth; but ceremonial "parades and rifle-shooting anight well be postponed until the youth are fortified with tho rudiments of that primary education which is l so essential to their material well-being.
