The local .school .re-opened on Mbn> , day, after the -week's • term 'holiday,; which had.been postponed from May. For the last few nionthig, the district has ibeen singularly immune fro n epidemics that have been prevalent inn surrounding districts-, but a case of mumps is now (reported. A wedding of .considerable interest is to take place here in the near future, tho ibride being one of the most popular members' of the community. On Saturday night a euchre tournament and dance organised by rlie, ■School Committee took place in the hall. There was a good attendance, and the school funds-will benefit very i (considerably as a result of the enterI tainment. Prizes donated by th^ I Committee were won by Mrs Sunues : and .Mr Norman.
