Tenders are being invited for the erection of a 'brick .building for the Bank cf New South .Wales at Carterton.
The Education Conimksionens will visit Carterton, on Thursday next. It is understood that they will not call any evidence here, but will inspect the :9chool and examine its methods a-c being typical of country schools of similar size in all parte of the Domin-

A public meeting of these interested in beautifying Carterton is to be held 'here on Wednesday evening next.
Mr A. J. Fisher, who has for a number of years been associated with -the Mutual- Trading Company staff, left hero on Saturday for Hawera, where he has accepted a position in a store.
