Investigation as to the cause of tho disaster to the big dirigible, Akron, at Atlantic City, and the resultant loss of Vaniman, his brother Colvin, and three others being killed—shoAvs that the explosion on the. airship, with which i\. was intended to make an attempt to cross the Aalantie, was caused through faulty construction alloAving 'the gas to escape over the engine exhaust.
