LONDON MARKETS
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 11th inst. • —Tallow: Since our last cablegram prices "are nominally unchanged. There is very little business doing. Frozen Meat:—For frozen meat generally there is very little demand. Lamb: Prices are -»d to Jd per lb. lower, the decline being chiefly on medium qualities and heavies. Beef and Mutton : Prices are unchanged.
CLEARING SALE AT EKETAHUNA.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their clearing sale held on Friday on behalf of Mr G. Edwards as follows :—Notwithstanding the rough weather prevailing there was a good attendance of buyers. The cows, owing to.tiro "rough day, did not look at their best, but we have to report a good sale, the prices ranging from £4 to £lO 10s, the heard aver- j aging £7 9s. Heifers in calf made j from £6 5s to £6 15s, empty heifers j to £4 7s 6d; wcaner heifers, £2, bulls ! from £3 to £8; implements and sundries at market rates.
WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALE.
Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report on their fortnightly wool, skin j and tallow sale as follows: —A good I selection of all classes was offered to a large attendance of buyers, and ' competition was very keen through- I out the sale, prices being very firm. Results are as follows: —Wool: Offering consisted of crutchings only, best Ci]d; medium 5Jd; inferior, 43d. Tallow: In tins, 245; in casks, not in shipping order, 275. Sheepskins: — Crossbred medium, 7-J-d; crossbred, 7d; crossbred seconds and dead, 6Jd; half-wool's, 6Jd; half-wools seconds, s:}d; half-wools black, sd; fine cross- [ bred hoggets, 7Jd to 7§d; stragglers, sd; half-wools, damp, 3s 7d ; crossbred damp, 5s 2d. Tho Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Wellington, report as follows: —"Fortnightly sales of wool, sheepskins, hides, tallow, etc. were held, on Friday. Large catalogues were offered, especially of crutchings, and there was good competition. Prices realised were as follows: — Wool: Fleece, 6d to BJd; crunching?, .good, 6d to 6£-d; medium, 5d to 6d; inferior and seedy. 3id to 4|d. Sheepskins: Full woolled crossbred, 6Jd to 7-a-d; medium, 6d to 6-Jd; short, 5J.d to 53d; inferior and damaged, 4d to od. Hides :—Ox, heavy, 7d to 71d ; medium, to 7d; cow, cut and slippy, 5d to 6d; calfskins, superior, lOd to lid; medium, to 9|d; cut and slippy, s£d to Bsd; horse, heavy. > 10s to 14s. 1
