WEDDING BELLS
HOSKINC-BENNETT.
A nuptial ceremony, in. which more than ordinary cbterest was manifested, was celebrated in St. Matthew's Church, iMastertou, yesterday, whenl Dt Aircher Hosking, oldest son. of Dr ■Wlilliain H. Hosking, one of our oldest and most- respected townsmen, was ■united ito' Miss Db'rothy Bennett, ■daughter of tlie late Mr Joseph Bennett, of Otahuao, Masterton. The church iwas crowded to the doors, many ibeing unable- to gain admission. The marriage ceremony was performed \by the !Rey. W. Baiine, of 'WeClhigtcn,-assisted ,'by the Kiev. H. WiHiaims, relieving Vicar of Masterton.
The bride wars attired in. a very, rich and costly satin gown, with a •square tram., and with ilia bodice draped with dd rose point lace. She wore 'a veil of embroidered tulle, fastened to the hair .by two .rows "of pearls, and carried a handsome bouquet of winder flowers atod anaidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were the Misses Wilmot anduNora Be'nnett (sisters 'of the (bride), Miss Zona Vatl* ance and Mim Chris Hosking. The iwo' former were charmingly attired in, white isatin frocks', veiled with ni•non, atad 'wore black satin hats. The other two were /prettily dressed in whit© nroslin -robes over silk, and wore Wack satin hate, wreathed in coloured flowers.
The ibride wds given.' away by her brother, Mir C. J. Bennett. Mr Ralph F. R'\ Boetham -acted as best man, a'nd Br IMcßae, with Messrs • Rish--worth and R. Riddiford, were groomsmen.
At the conehuiion cl the ceremony, wtbich/wars it'.illy choral, ove'r two hundred guests attended a recaption and) ibrcalcfast given in the Exchange Hall iby the Misses Valrance. 'Appropriate (music was .rendered by Mr H. Inns' orchestra, and the-newly married couple received the hearty felicitations of their numerous friends-. Iv., the afternoon they left for Wellington, en route for Australia, where they will spend-a honeymoon of three month's.' duration.
LAt tihe reception, Miss Yallance was ipl3:i'iin,gly attired in a> blue braided cloth gow.n, with black hat, whiteplumes and iblack furs. Miss B. Val•laince was dressed un a mole braided costume, with Oriental embroidered' trimming, a mole toque, and seal stole. Mrs .Coom (a, sister of thebride) were a pretty &esv of pearl grey channelise, with cream lace -and touches of pale .bl'ue and pink, and a black p&med hat. Mrs W. H. Hosking was attired in a handsome black satin costume, trimmed with black embroidery and fringe, with black hat and white marabout. Mrs C. J. Bennett wore <a neat navy blue costume; with black bat. Mrs O. F. Yallanoe was attired in a, handsomely braided brown, cloth, dress, brown hat with orange tr'mmings, and fur*. Mrs Erl Williams wore a beautiful white lace .gown, with white, feather boa, and .black r.,nd white hat. The presents received by the wewJy married couple were of a handsome, and costly .character, a-nd were a marked tribute to the esteem m whichDr and (Mrs Archer Hosking are held throughout the district.
