MASTERTON RACING CLUB
MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the stewards of the Ma sterton Racing Club was held in the secretary's office, Queen Street, 011 Saturday afternoon, theire being present,— Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), J. Macara, 0. C. Cooper, W. Coop ; er, C. J. Bennett, F. E. Dorset, J. loriig, D. McLachlan and A. Welch.
Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. G. Piilftier and G. H. Y-ateo.
A letter was .received 'from the Mai'Tborougih Racing' Club, stating that the dates 'for the spring meeting of each 'Club clashed, and asking the 'Masterton ,Cht(b if possibly to alter the dates. The secretary was instructed 'to write .to the Marlborough Club, and infurm (them that it was impossible for 'the Masterton 'Cluib to alter their dates, and suggesting that the Mattborough Clu'b should endeavour to hold their -spring meeting a week or two earlier, as -i'be Napier- Park Racing Club had altered their dates so as no't to clash with Masterton.
It -was decided that the delegate appointed to represent tlie Masterton Racing Club at the meeting of the executive cf Country Racing Clubs, should be instructed to support the remits '.forwarded by the South Canterbury Racing Olub. The resignation of Mr W. -Piatt as a steward of tho 'Ollib was accepted with regret. It .was decided that tRI. - Knox, W.
'Garrett-, 11. Keeper and J. J. Cooper be recommended for traiineTs' -licenses, W. flint! Pi/. Welch for apprentices.!' licenses, and W. H. McKay for a jockey's, license. Mr C. F. ValJanco's application for a gjonitleman 'rider's certificate was received.
