CRUELTY TO A DOG
AN INTERESTING CASE

Mr V. G. Day, S.M., to-day, in a reserved decision, convicted a Fairlio fanner of cruelty by putting a wiro ort a dog's nose to prevent it .from biting; sheep. Several farmers gave evidence tibat Ulie practice was .not uncommon. One said he had seen a dog in pithlicf trials competing with his nose wired. The defendant was only ordered to pay costs.
