IN SELF DEFENCE,

(Received July 4, 10.10. a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 4. While a constable was arresting a man at Barham, another man, John Patrick Casey, interfered. The constable followed Casey into an hotel. Casey threw a jug, and then rushed ab the constable with a knife. The constable, after giving a warning, shot Casey fatally in selfdefence.
