TROUBLE m FRANCE
STRIKE OF SEAMEN

PARIS, July 2
The Seamen's Union has declared the negotiations for the settlement of the strike ended, and states that it jmavst light to the bitter end.
The Dockers' Federation has issued an order practically calling a sympathetic strike. Seamen in various ports in France struck for an increase in wages, and held up trans-Atlantic liners. Efforts were made by the Minister of Marine to break tbo strike by supplying naval seamen and stokers to work the vessels. Cnhinet asked the sailors and shipping companies to submit the disputo to arbitration, and this the union accepted, but reserved tho right of the acceptance or rejection of the award.
