j Sir, — I notice <:n your .paper this morning a letter signed "Benzine," which insinuates that it was the drovers' fault that the dogs and sheep •weu'e destroyed hy the motor ear on rtheCa.rteirton road last Monday. Perhaps "Benzine" is one of the station- . holders who expect a drover to take 'stock the longest distance possible when, droving for them, and cut the prices down to the, lowest limit, but when in charge of -stock belonging to someone .else, tiny ought to bo off the roads before sundown, so -as to leaive (theni clean- for •umlight-ed motors to ina.ee dfc the Iraite of forty miles ' an ■hdur. lam prepared to say that it was entirely the fault cif the driver of the car that at least one- valuable dog was injured bn tiro 24-th June,, and that .he never had the mairae.ro to stop to inquire/ whuitldamage lie had done, or what suffering li 3 had caused a poordumb .beast.
