FUNERAL OF SIR JOHN LOGAN CAMPBELL
S WITNESSED BY THOUSANDS. (By Telegraph — Press Association.} AUCKLAND, Last Night. The funeral of Sir John Logalri Catmpbell took place to-day, nearly all shops ~in the city being closed during the afternoon. As arranged the body was laid on the crest of Maungakeikei. Among the many wreaths sent was one from the Governor and Lady Islington. . Col. Campbell, cousin of the deceased, Avas chief mourner, and the Hon. J. Oqlvin represented the Government. The procession Avas Avitnes- | sed by thousands, dense croAvds gathI ering at many points. Before the burial service, Canon Mac Murray read a short dedication service, the grave i:ot being in consecrated ground. There were 160 A'ehicles in the procession.
