A special meeting of the Tramway Board wais held to-day, to consider a threat ctf the Union to suspend the service on Monday afternoon* to hold a /demonisbratfioti to protest agains the grievance®, re Roster. Tlhe following motion was carried: '< 'That it is the desire *of the. Board to maintain cordial relations with its stuff, and to this enti tlife Boa.rd has •at a'il time® to "be ready to give- sympathetic consideration to any r&arasi-, dble ccmplainte, 01" to give effect--to a !ay practical suggeistio-n-s, anid w'hei eas the JBoard its assured that a lairg--majority of the staff aa-'e not cnly loyal to the service but equally des'tfitts with the Efcaivd to uphold its piresomt hig'h standard, a'nd will co-operate with the 'Board in such a» endeavourj ■ the U'niiou be iniformed .that any main not so disposed,- deserts his diuty, or fail's to report for xhi,ty at the appointed time, will be deemed to have left the service without notice, a'nd will render himself lialble to the penalties entailed by such action."
