RUAKURA FARM.
I The Governin-eint is doing good work ,' in making provision for the teaching at tire IRiu'afkura exper'imenitall farm of practica'l agjricultuiiv to a limited 'number of young .people. This provision is 'thoroughly in'adequate, how- / ever, for the requiremcntis of the Dominion. What are wanted .are a few agriouCbui'al' high .schools, or colleges, whore the eciencs- of- agriculture might be ta'ught. Before he came to office, the Hon. T. .Mackenzie promised that (New Zealand would he hrouglht into , line with the Australian- States and . with older .coun'trieis in this ..respect. Since he -has hecome Prime Minister, however, he li'&'s been silent in the f -matter. Are we to assume that the 'Premier .has abandoned the idea of , .agricultural high i&chaols entirely ? Or : is he" merely waiting to see how the ' political cat jumps .next month?
