THE NE TEMERE DECREE,

| At the Christchurch, Presbytery, it was decided that as the Committee had 60 far not been able to meet the petition for presentation to Parliament in connection' with the Ne Teanere decree, which was not rea'dy, the Rev. OR,. Wood, convener' of the icom,'mi.ttee', tsaid that he had been making enquiries, and had received an interesting letter from Canada, dealing with the' marriage .laws there. This would ibe discussed when the report came up. It referred, he said, to a, da.se in the Supreme Court, where a marriage, solemnised iby an accredited 'Miino'ister, had ibeen dissolved. A deputation (from the laymen's missionary movement Waited on the Preslbytery, and asked .the members to consider the advisability of inviting the iGieneral Assembly to meet in Christtdmrch in 1913. The delegates said that they weire of the opinion that, this (would ibe a good thing for the Presbyterian cause in Chri&t•ehurch ;i(nd Canterbury. The Acting Moderator thanked the •deputation, .and said the Presbytery wcuM consider their suggestion.
