WAIRARAPA PRESBYTERY
MONTHLY 'MEETING.
A meet.'ing of the Wafrarapa Presbytery was held on .Tuesday, in Knox Hall, Masterton, Rev. G. K. S'towell, ('Moderator) presiding. Present, — Rev. J. C. Mills. L. .Thompson;) A. T. Thompson-'(clerk), J. S Young, Messrs Ralph, 'Rattray, Falla, Wilton. Rev. A. T. Thompson was appointed representative to the Asssem'b'ly'e B:31s and Business Committee.
D.r Gowie Was appointed Presbytery's 'medicrul officer in connection with tlie beneficiary funds of the church.
Reports .from the various congregations were received for Wellington Orphanage. The Assembly's remit, re Baptisimal certificate. was approved of, but with the recommendation, that the names of tine -parents and date of birth be inserted, and .that -fchie cfaee of the baptism of adults should be provided for.
The Assembly's remit re Theological curriculuin was generally approved: of, .with the 1 recommendation that the subjects of the History and Theory of Missions and' Comparative (Religion should 'be provided for iby lectures by outeide Ministers.
The remit re home mission l .state being represented at the Presbytery was favourably considered, .but ft was fel)t that the proposed changes required same adjustment to existing regulations. Remits re Widows' and Orphans' 'Fund -were approv d of. The question of a session for Lanstlowne was raised, land 1 it was agiroed 'to appoint Knox Oiurch session to iact ad interim. Under the consideration of Romanism and Ritualism.', Rev. E. C. Stowel'l strongly recommended the new hook, "Shall Romianism Conquer Ne»v Zealand?" by a Presbyterian Minister, Rev. J. Dickson. (Rev. a. T. Thompson reported on' organised -work for men.
