MASTERTON PARLIAMENTARY DEBATING SOCIETY

Mr J. C. Cooper presided over a meeting of the Parliamentary Debating Society lasb evening in Murray's Hall. There were about n dozen members present. Mr Cooper staled that the effort to resuscitate the Parliamentary Debating Society had so far not met with the success it deserved, and unless the membership ma. terially increased, it was doubtful if the Society could continue. Mr .7. T. ; M. Hornsby, of Petone, wrote stating that if satisfactory arrangements J could be made, he would endea/our ' to attend the meetings 6f the Sor lety I and give all the assistance in his ' power. It was decided on the motion .ofMr D. Hebentori to call a special I meeting for Saturday next or the following Saturday, and invite Mr Hornsby to be present and address the meeting.
