The ""Zigomar" seasoni w.ill oommonco to-night at tho Foresters' Hall. "Zigomar" is a copy from real life, ono of those daring and desperate criminals, such as we hear of from time to time in isolated portions of the European Continent as taking travellers captive and holding them for ransom. He is also What is termed in the vernacular, a "Swell Crook" and attends high-class gatherings in pursuit, of his nefarious calling. A bomb explosion shatters the leading detective on 'his trail, and this one, Paulin Broquet, leaves the pursuit of "Zigomar" to Nick Carter. Instead of Nick capturing "Zigomar," the latter captures Nick, and the band condemn him to death. Nick• esehere, and the sensational chase is resumed. Secret passages in abbeys, natural caves and other enchanting scenes lend a virlity to the theme which never flags from the very beginning right on to the strong denouement at tihe end. The drama is of a I healthy type, free from scenes of an ! objectionable nature,, and is the most sensational picture ever presented to New Zealand audiences. It has been a star attraction wherever it has been shown, and a packed house is anidcipated at the Foresters', Hall to-night to witness, a picture Which, lias been ! termed : "the gr'eatest'triumph in crne--1 matogra'_>hy/' i.-'-'TJhe part of ; Nick Carter is taken by France's leading actor, M. Charles Karuss, while another well-known Parisian favourite, M. Arquilliere is seen in tlie role of "Zigomar." The picture is nearly 4000 ft in length. The programme to be ■screened in addition to the big star item is:—"Told in Colorado/' an exciting Selig, drama; "The Blind Miner," a Vitagraph drama, a<ad therefore .perfect; "The Prosecuting Attorney," a splendid Selig drama; ' 'The Maniac,'' a Lubin success; Ihe River Loing," scenic; "Industries in Sardinia." A Gaumont Graphic will communicate optical contact with events of the past few days.
