INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS. I workmen's .compensation. ALLEGED EXAGGERATED CLAIMS. (Received June 7, 9.33 a.m.) LONDON, June G. Tire International Congress of In'su ranee Brokers ibeing held to discuss the improvement of insurance 'practices, .received a cablegram expressing the good wishes of the *Xew 'South Wales Association. A discussion on itihe question of insurance under the Workmen's Compensation Act revealed the fact that exaggerated claim's are growing. The companies, it was stated, found it difficult ,to make profit or adjust rates to cover risks. A. resoiliiticn was passed against State competition in insurance, it being d'ireetly opposed to the interests of the people. It was also resolved that municipal insurance was inefficient and costly, and detrimental to the ratepayers.
