THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. LAST NIGHT'S GREAT PROGRAMME.
A large and enthusiastic audience 1 greeted the change of programme at * ■the Foresters' Hall'' 'last evening, the ' splendid drain'.!, "The Great Mometnt," toeing .iflie lodestone. Of such • i& the di'ama that the audience applauded the various scenes •again' and again. The plot of the i piece held their'interest all through, while! the acting, especially that of Msss Asia iNie'teoii, who took the leading role, was particularly good. The' play haj been described in these col«u;min.s befcrci, and suffice it to say -thai it eclipse* in merit anything yet. .-presented hy the linn—which is saying ■a good deal when the many wspeci.il -attractions whioh have ibeen- shown at Mie (Foresters' Hall are taken into consideration. "The Mii-eat Moment" k one of the firm's exclusive pictures, ■and is 4000 ifeoi ilong. There w<ire also showir some first class dramas, ecenios!, comics, etc. "Regeneration" •was a wonderful story of the wrong done, iby men which was afterwards rectified as 'far m possible by the- manly action, of one who was previously a dissipated .wastrel. "The .Sunbeam" was the story .of an, artless little mite who gradually brought aibout a wedding "between a frosty k>ld batchelor and a ifrigid oM' maid. "'Tie an ill wind ■that blows nobody good" was also a wdl-1 produced drama. An Australian' Gazette addsd topical items- of interest and the -making, cf, pottery in Borneo was- n;ell illustrated. Excellent comic films were "The Stuff that Dreams are Made) Of," "Foofchmd is Jealous/' and ' Billy's Day Out." ''Testing His Courage" was a comedy full of excitement. The programme is to ;be -repeated to-night and again toj morrow night. The children's matinee will take place to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock.
