RIARKES STOPPED BY RAIN. AUSTRALIA v. MIDDLESEX. COUNTY AT THE WICKETS. (Received June 4, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, June 3. Tho Australians commenced a, match with Middlesex to-day. E. R. Mayne, J. W. McLaren, D. Smith, and H. Webster were omitted from the- Australian team. The sky was overcast, and the attendance small. The wicket had a so-ft-ish surface. Warner won tho toss iand elected to bat. Rain stopped play when* Middlesex had lost two wickets for 67. Details : MIDDLESEX.—First Innings. E. S. Littlejohn, b Whitty 0 F. A. Tarrant, c Jennings, b Matthews • 20 J. W.
