In regard to speeding up the mail train, he said inquiries were being made by the officers cf the department.

On Thursday evening Mr A. Hen"derson, chairman of thb Masterton. Oh,amber cf Commerce, received a telephone message from the • Palmtua Chamber to send delegates to a dqputation. which was to wait on the Minister of fßuilways at Wc-odyille yes today, in reference to the Napier express being diverted through the Wairarapa aga>in. The .Mowing reply was telegraphed to the Progressive As--sociaitkwi:—
"Regret owing to short notice unable to send deputation (from MaisterIton Ohamtfer of Commerce to support you'r deputation urging that Napier train;, be run through the' Wairarapa. We strongly support proposal :r> -put beifore- the Minister by this Cham ber.— J. C. Boddington, Secretary.'
