THE EDUCATION COMMISSION.
■lf there were just'fication at all for Royal Commissions, that in respect to the education system would be justified. The scheme or education has developed to suoh large proportions in recent years, and its cost has become so heavy, that tho taxpayer, has a right to know that he is -receiving value for ihis. money. There is more Mian a suspicion that there 'are leakages in certain directions which .might he stopped, and developments in other directions which siiould be encouraged. The evidence of educationalists which will probably be placed before the Commission should assist Parliament in arriving at a solution of one of the most complex with which it could ibe confronted. No-ex-ception whatever can be taken to the personnel of the Commission.
