MYSTERIOUS CASE
YOUNG MAN'S TERRIBLE DEATH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANG-ANUL Last Niglit. - At about one o'clock on Tuesday, ;i telephone message from Kakatih;, about thirty miles distant, stated that Mr Tom (O'Neill, a well known young settler, had been .grievously wounded in ithe stomach. The injured man was being conveyed to ithe main road, and a doctor >and priest weie summoned from. .Wangamri. A motor oar containing the doctor,, Fattier Viband, O'-Nefil's ibrothar, and a .chaffeur, left about 2 ia.im.,, and all .went avcll till Aberfeldie was reached, where the car went over a bank. Twenty feet below the road it struck a manuka trae and the cocupa'nts .were thrown out. o''Nieill eusJained concussion of the brain, and the others were badly slhja'ken. But for the collision Avifh the tree the oar would liave gone- over a precipice fifty feet deep. The doctor and; (priest proceeded xp .Kakatihi, where an operation was performed, and the 'rites of the church ; administered to the injured man, who died at about 10 o'clock.- ■ , .Reticence is being observed, but from wh.it can .be gathered it appears that at about 11.30 on Monday evening tho deceased was in his room ostensibly for the purpose of retiring to bed, when he called out to his brother
