GOVERNMENT APPOINTMENTS
Crown lands department.

WELLINGTON, Last Night,
Mr T. N. Rrodriek, Commissioner of Crown Lands for Canterbury, has been appointed Commissioner for the Wellington Land District, in succession to Mr Jas. Mackenzie. Mr C. R. Pollen, Commissioner for Hawke's Bay, takes Mr Brodrick's place in Canterbury. Mr -ft. T. Sadd, Cismmissioner at Nelson, replaces Mr Pollen tat Napier. Mr F. A. Thompson, chief draughtsman at Napier, "■ has been aippainted Commissioner of Crown Lands, and takes up his duties at Nelson. Mr ,W. R. Jourdain, of tho head office, has ibeen promoted chief, clerk,, at headquarters, in Succession to Mi F. T. OWeill. .'.Mr jourdain is a'so*'' licitor of the Supreme Court, and was secretary to the Timber Commission-" er. Mi- H. Land Transfer draughtsman, Wellington, becomes chief draughtsman at Napier. Mr R. S. ,Galhrtaith, District Surveyor at Auckland, goes to Invereargill as chief draughtsman. Mr J. Cook, Land Transfer., draughtsman at New Plymouth, succeeds Mr Mackay at Wellington.
