KAIPARORO. Very 'heavy rain fell during the latter part of last, week, and the weatheris still dull and threatening. Pastures' show the effects of the* heavy fa-osts that have been experienced, and the grass, though plentiful, .has now a decidedly bleached appearance.
Several suppliers have already discontinued taking milk to the cheese factory, and it is expected that thefactory will, at the end o'f the present month, close dfc>wn> for the season. Mr McPlierson, who for some' years past has resided en the Low Koa/V has disposed of his farm at a very isaliMaetory (pnee to Mr Howe, of tha Bketahuna dMriot. Tihe new owner mil take possession of the property at the ibeginining of Juily. Mr Davies visited the local school during the early part of last week.
On Saturday evening a progressiva eudhire tournament organised by the echool committee took place in thehall. In spite of the wet weather there was a Very fair attendance. Afe the conclusion of .tihe tournament adance was held.
