AN AUCKLAND RAID
CHINAMEN BEFORE THE COURT. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. At the Police Court to-day, thirtyeight Chinese made their appearance as a, result of the recent raid by. ihe police. Ting Hing, charged with being the occupier of premises used as a common gaming house, was remanded on bail. Jim Wong and Ah Lee were also adjudged principals, inasmuch as they assisted in-the management of the premises. The latter, who was only a new arrival, was fined £2, while the c'harge against Jim Wong \v;\s reduced to one of being found in a common gaming 'house. He was fined £l. The remaining thirty-five were charged with being found in a common gaming house, and were each fined £l.
