COST OF LIVING.
The Premier intends setting up a GoNiiwission to investigate the question of the cost of Living. There are no two questions thrvt there is need for investigation. The economic balance i>s quite off its equilibrium. The problem of How to live is daily becoming more 'acute. But surely a commonson se Parliament is aible to trace the causes, of this unhappy development, and to apply the remedy, without the necessity for a Rioyal Comimii&siion. We have had too much legislation by commission already. .What' is wanted is a little legislation, from those who are elected and paid to provide it. The pa,st experience of Royal OomimwslJons is that they are a>s useless as they are expensive. They are not required.
