THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES,
Lovers of moving pictures again tSiowed their appreciation of Messrs Tlhoinpson and Payne's efforts to cater 'for them by attending at the Foresters' Hall in large nnmbers last evening;. Q'ihe programme delighted the audience, and it could hardly fail to please ohv account of the excellence tad the variety of the subjects shown. The dramas were a splendid lot, particul'ariy "''The Voice of (ho 'Child," and ''A Child cf the West." A. fine lot of teenies were shown, including a beautifully coloured. . picture of the famous Niagara Falls, hath© comic section, "The ChampionBoxer," introducing a lively contest, was one of the best seen iit Ma starton.' The children-'s Matinee will talt3 place this afternoon, and the pro.grafitime will be shown for the last 'time to-night. Monday's star attraction is a dramatisation of "She," Rider Haggard's fcimo'iiis work. 'This picture- is 25'0'J feet long, and should not be missed by those who lov.e hjealthy drama adapted from, the works of the best English authors. MASTERTON PICTURE COMPANY.
The current programme, shown by the Mlbsterton Picture Company in the Town Hall last evening, agaiti' drew a large house, and the various items were splendidly received. The picture films shown were perfect in every Way, and while the dramas shown were realistic amd in many parts thrilling, the comedies presented raised rears of laughter, and the scenics were of the best, and were shown with a clearness and distinctness which left mothing to be desired. The vaudeville section of the entertainment was cleverly nua'ata-iued from beginning to <tad, and merited the loud applause whidli it drew fiom the audience 1 . Professor Karle'is animals caused quite a simmer cf excitement by their wonderful acts, while the g»bbe manipulating and wire performing were amazing and' sensational. The pony "Fritz," •which has not yet been, successfully ■ridden, created quite a sensation, and for real cleverness roust be hard to equal. A lad named Hunter was awarded a medal by vote of the audience ■for making the best attempt to ride the andm-al. The offer by the managenrai.t of a silver medal to the boy who .rides the pony for the lon get time will be open this evening to all competitors. To-nligiM. the vaudeville turn will again be presented, but a fresh «ef of pictures wMI be shown. ■ On Monday there will be a complete diange, including the famous film, "A Royal Divorce," which has created a sensation in the cities .of the Old Country and America.
