RAID IN AUCKLAND
THIRTY-TWO CHINESE ARRESTED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. Two sergeants and eleven constables raided a' Chinese shfc<p at Wakefield bust night, and arrested thirty-two Chinese, on a charge of being tfoun'd in a common; gaming house. Five tables in the room were devoted, to ifan-tan-, pakapoo, dice, cards aind d'ominoesi, and 011 foniT 'money was found. Twenty, of the arrested, are professed Christians, and had been to church. r Ting Hung is ehh.rgjd with being ths proprietor, and the\ police intend to - show that the house, was run, by a' syndicate.. .For those who played substantial meals were provided free, and the if are was so good that the house 'became knlnvn ais the "Northern Club." .
