RECEIVES A DEPUTATION. (By Telegraph —Tress Association.) THAMES, Last Night. The Hon. J. Colvin, Minister 'of Mines, received several' deputations to-day. The principal matters. urged wero tho opening of the Hauraki pas. toral lease lands, estimated at i.early <a- quarter of la million acres, for settlement.

These lands are situated on the Haauraki -gold fields and are quite distinct from the Hauraki plain lands. Tho Minister was also urged, to have a flying survey mlade of the KopuPokeno (railway, and to subsidise the construction of a ferry over the Thames River, and a bridge over the Pinko.

Mr Colvin will brink the matters before Cabinet.
