The North Island Railway Appeal Board eat' at Palmerstton North today, Dr McArthur presiding. Mr C. J. Ryan represented the first divifeicai, and Mr d'., Games the second. Mr Mowat appeared for the Department. Oiamlers appealed against his dismissal for alleged insubordination. The dhalxman eaid that Murpliy anust have been a lunatic to sign ;any-| rtlhjing without reading it first. Judgment was reserved till to-morrow. j Walter Short appealed/against his! dismissal. He went trout Wellington ftp Skannon' on transfer, and' when! asked by the foreman ijo sign on, he •refm&ed to dd as ue was requested.
