The annual meeting of the Masterten Horticultural' and Industrial Society beld in Murray's- Hall last night. There was a good attendance •of members, whicb w, over | by Mr J. 'Fnor. Boddington (re-elected)', j The chairman moved, pro fonna, tbo motion, of which notice had been given I "That the annual subscription be increased to one guinea for family tickets and ids for single tickets, -from the i* present amounts of. 10s and 5s respectively .'' This was sec'o nded by Mr J. ICaselberg, who spoke strongly in sup--1 port of the motioiii, ■wttiieh, aftea- somo j discuts-sioii was. put to the me'eting and lost. Tho eliairman m'oved, in accordance witOi, notice, "That the open class for exhibitors be nuade open to all, including liurserymen." The motion was supported by Mr T. Dixon, but a majority was against tho prbposal. Mr Anderson gave as a suggest>jii to the incoming Cominitteo that the collection, of fruit and .vegetables be ifer tlifcee who have never won a first prize'. The question cf bokling a bulb exhibition was left to tbe Committee. Votes of thanks, were passed to the Hon. Auditor (.vlir J.. B. Moodie), to the retiring President (Mr J. Pryor), and to the Press.
