MUTINEERS AT FEZ
FRENCH LOSSES

FEZ. April 2G. During the recent mutiny at Fez, two French lieu tenants and two veterinary surgeons barricaded themselves in a! hotel room -without -window*;. When the door "was yielding to the mob they escaped imo a. sewer leading to the river. They were without food ior -water for 48 hours before they jemerged from the sewer and reached a .place of safety. The Sheerefiaii troops at Fez have been disbanded and replaced 'by the French troops of occupation. _ Tip newpasha, is energetically arresting those guilty of mutiny and outrage, and rcEttering order. The French losses during the fighting included sixty-five men killed. A squadron of 175 Sheorefian cavalry at S.uk^el : Aiiba, Northern Tunis, lias deserted "with horses, arms and baggage. Seven thousand Jews took refuge in. the Sultan'© garden during the fighting at Fez. ;
