PRISONER ESCAPES
PROM MOUNT COOK GAtil,. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Al»out 3 o'clock this afternoon. a prisoner named John Lewis, escaped f r om the Mount Cook Prison works. He was working in (the brickyard, and escaped by climbing tho wall. Lewis was recently released from the New Plymouth prison , but was only two days a free man before he again came before the courts. He is a boot 36 years of age, sft Gin in height, and of dark oompk-jdon. Parties are out endeavouring to.recapture him.
