Sir, As the Mayoral election I takes pla.ee to-day, I would fcusr.gost 1 that the candidates visit the artificial lake in lower Church Street, whidh was constructed four years ago, and is now in an overflowing coudition, hxi% wihieh hi dry weather has the effect of making passers-by hold their nostrils; also to ,see if they could not protect thfe citizens' eyes from being knocked out by overhanging trees.
