LINCOLN ROAD SEWAGE.
J ITo The Editor.] j g] r) — I f n your issue of -.tin? morn- !. ing I notice that Hr Corad&e a.t- his Kuripuni meeting, referring to a charge' of negkctcf duty in connection wiith a householder whose hack yard was inundated with sevags caused by the re-laying cf. drain pipes on Lincoln' R'oad, complained that there ■were no grounds for the accusation. As tho householder in whose back yard the sewage'of tho whole of Lincoln Road was dumpted for the space of four or five days, I emphatically ass'tvrt that Mr Coradino did not, to ■ my knowledge,, visit, mv premises to investigate complained of. If ho issued instructions in regard to ibs abatement,- it is strange that it,lie sewagte was flowing through my premises until the new drain pipes were laid. When i complained to Mr Cora, dine, who in his capacity of Mayor I rightly or wrongly considered ihe "best one to apply to, he informed flue that he did not know what could be done in the matter. I then hunted Cr Hoar, who brought along the Borough Engineer, who, while view'.'tig the filthy stream of sewage, remarked that the sewage < connectio.n of my premise's was tho lowest point 011 the street. , I might hero mention, , Mr Editor, that I was previously unaware that sewage would overflow at the lb west poiint when there was 110 other outlet.— J am, etc., W . I (.' G ULDEN. (We have excised portions of Mr Tggulden's loiter.— Ed. Age.)
