The growing of fruit for commercial (purposes nva.s the subject of an interesting discussion at tilie annual- conference of the New Zealand (Nurserymen's Association, which was held in Auckland J'ast week. The .secretary reported rtfliat ,he had gent circulars to the principal (growers in the Dominion, asking for information 'with ,regaird to t'he best .varieties of apples for cultivation, a»nd numerous supplies-had com© to hand. These were compared at lengtih by delegates, and it was found that the 12 most popular varieties were: G'ravensein, Jonathan, Delicious, Cox's- Orange Pippin, Scarlet Pearmain, Ohinemuri, Northern Spy, Sturmer, Rome Beauty, Dougherty, ' Adams and Five Urown.
