THE TELEPHONE SERVICE.
The Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce hag passed a resolution, asking the "Tc&tial Department to arrange for a clay telephone service between Pa line ns-ton and Masterton. At the present t'Jnie, telephone connection between 'these two centres ie confined to the night, when it is of very little value from a business point of view. The imatter is one which concerns Mastorton as. much" as it does Pal-aner-ston, and -for-this reason the local Chamber of 'Commerce should co-op-erate with the northern Chamber in making representations to the Department.
