MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT

I TIMARI I , Last Night. la order to avoid a collision with a I gig, a.fc a street crossing in a quiet ■part of the town this .afternoon, the owner and driver turned a big motor oar too sharply round the corner, with the result that one hind wheel collapsed, and tho ear fell on its side, throwing out the driver, and four or five young women passengers. T'ho car, nevertheless, hit (the gig, but behind, and threw it forward and capsized it. The driver of the car had his collarbone and one or more ribs broken, and his isister and Miss Kardngh, the da.ugjhtor of the proprietor of the Commercial Hotel, both suffer'ed severely from concussion and ibtnises. The other occupant® of the (oar escaped with scratches and bruisei&. The man in the gig, Mr B. Butler, struck the' kerb with his head when he fell, and was cut. about, the face, a.nd later showed signs that his - was fractured. Qjhe aimhulance men did good service, before doctors arrived, in removing the patients, three of them to the hospital. A tall hedge at the corner probaibly !had something to do in bringing ab- [ out the accident. I
