HALF A MILLION RESUME
HOOLIGANISM RAMPANT.

IiOMJON, April 11. Half .a. million minors are now working. The chief hitcli is in South Wales, where the M-i iters' Federation has conferred with the enginemen, and urged them to resume. The enginemen refused. The Federation then issued a manifesto to the members, stating that while not directing, colliers to fill the enginemen's places, it did not place difficulties in. the way of colliery managers securing efficient men from the miners' ranks. The revolt against the Federation de spreading in South Lancashire, j -Crowds, chiefly of youths and un- | married men, are visiting the pits and I coimpelling ( the workers to cease. Several serious collisions occurred, .and the .police made baton charges. - Twenty thoueand miners at Wigan,! 'iwthxj were anxious to work', were 'orced to stop, .fearing that the hooligans rivbuld box them within the pits. The owners a.t Reigliftm and .Tylde« ley h!ave re-closed their pits, believing' <it unsafe to work them with the miners in their present destructive mood.
