LONDON, April 11. The Bishop of Oxford .states that wages can.' no longer settle themselves by the lam- of supply and demand. The proper basis for the reconstruction of society is the adoption of the principle that adequate pay to the labourer should be a first charge upon an industry. A permanent standard wage would doubtless entail a standard of efficiency in the worker.
