A fatal accident occurred last evening, at Epsom, resulting in the death of Wiilliam Jones, a carter, of Pionsonby. Jones was driving a cart when a 1 traaibcar coliided with it from the rear, throwing Jones out. He was picked up in an unconscious state, i having suisitaiiined several severe fractures of tdie skull. He died in tOie Hospital tb-day. Deceased was a married man, 44 years of age. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. HASTINGS, Last Night. The annual conference of 'the New Zealand Referees' Association was held to-day, Mr W. Keith (Vice-Presi-dent) being in the chair. Delegates were present rmresntimg Wangamii L Taramafei, Wiling on, Southland, Wairarapa, Mamawatu, Auckland, N apaer and Hastings. Decisions given; by . (the Executive during 1911 were confirmed., with sligiht alterations.
