DEATHS FROM STARVATION

Mr Tom Mann, the Socialist agitator, under arrest for having "feloniously and maliciously published certain matter, called the Syndicalist, with .the objecb of endeavouring to seduce persons serving in His Majesty's Forces from their duty and allegiance to the King, and of inducing certain persons to traitorous and mutinous practice, contrary to the provisions of the Incitement to Mutiny Act of 1797," has been released on bail, having promised not to repeat his remarks pending his trial. There liave been a number of death s from starvation in "the potteries" district. The Mayor's fund at Grimsby, Lincolnsliire, is relieving three thousand families. One thousand children are being fed at school. One hundred and thirty-seven vessels, aggregating 147,000 tons, are idle on* the Tyne- ' Forty thousand workers besides the.miners are unemployed. - " l ••'• - Five hundred of the Shropshire Welsh Fusiliers 'have arrived at Brynnkinallt and Chirk, Wales/where the strikers to-day accepted the masters' offer to resume work:
The- strikers in 'Midlothian, Scotland, are averse (to resumption of work unless a minimum of 6s a day is granted.
