MEXICO CITY, March 7. The battle which was fbugjfrfc at Jimnez, net Jaurez, as previously stated, resulted in the defeat of the rebels, heavy losses being incurred oit'~~ iboth sides.

The Federals are now attacking strongly, and hold the rebels' position, near the scene of the former faatfcie.

It is reported thiat the seaport of Mazaitalan "was boanbaided by a rebel gunlbbat, ±2ie rebels attacking the city landwards • simultaneously, with, considerable loss of life. The Federals hold the city strongly.
