Acording to a Washington .cable, the High Hon. James Bryce, British Ambassador to the United States, is sailing for New Zealand shortly. He lias been several years writing a book upon democracy, and is anxious to study New Zealand first-hand.
Mr W. Pendray, a Vancouver merchant, and brother of the Itev. J. J; Pendray, is afiti present on a short visit to Eketahuma. This is Mr Pendray's first trip to New Zealand,'.and'- already he- has been greatly impressed Mtb the scenery and (the potentialities ; of" 'the country. ;• /<r :
