THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH.
WONDERFUL IiSOORD OF SUCV CESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Chub's sports held on the Hastings f Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically wept the board. Out of an entry o£ 12 machine® representing 5 different make® the Triumphs secured ten, firsts, seven. seconds, and 4 thirds ouit of a possible eleven events. - This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered iihat the Triumphs had to concede l'arge handicaps to machines of equaJ power and six of the ten first machine's were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday. December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs 35min., established by Mr H. L. Sch&effer on New Year'® Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, .this record has- stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mir Rnat-hwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year'® Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6brs. 38min., Toweling the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made ftrom the finest material procurable that can. average 33 i miles an hour over 230 milesi of New;. Zealand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the. finish could not help but remark on .the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads. We can deliver both fixed and free engine models from sitock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers at aH times. TOURIST MOTOR CO., LTD., Bole Agents for Triumph and B.S.A.
