Owing to the poor response to the •newspapers Sportsman's and Sporting Life's appeals for subscriptions towards Ernest Barry's expenses in connection with tho race with R. Arn-st for the sculling championship, a committee has been formed to endeavour to raise money by means of cards and boxes.
