ON NEWFOUNDLAND COAST

STEAMER CREW MISSING.

(Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.)

ST. JOHNS, March 23. A violent gale is raging on the coast of Newfoundland. Three persons were drowned from a small boat.

. A member of the crew from the steamer Portia was washed v overboard and drowned.

The steamer Erua, bound from Glasgow to "St. Johns, is twenty days overdue. The crew of twenty-seven is believed to have been lost.

Several vesesls belonging to the fishing fleet are missing.

A TERRIFIC STORM.

ON WESTRALIAuN COAST. SKIPS BROKEN TO PIECES. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) PERTH, March 24. A terrific storm occurred at Balla Balla on the West Australian coast, on Wednesday last. The ship Crown of England was broken to pieces, and of her crew are missing. The ship Concordia was driven on uio beach, but remained intact, and there is a fair cliance of refloating her. A number of lighters were also wrecked.
